By downloading, installing, or using Mute ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Mute is a personal tool designed to help users maintain periods of intentional silence from specific contacts. The App provides features including call blocking, app access management, photo archiving, and personal journaling. All features operate entirely on your device.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • — Any content you create within the App (letters, notes, personal data)
  • — Maintaining the security of your device
  • — Understanding that blocking contacts affects your ability to receive communications

Not a Substitute for Professional Help

Mute is a personal tool, not a mental health service. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified healthcare provider or emergency services. The App should not be used as a substitute for professional counseling, therapy, or medical advice.

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Mute and protected by intellectual property laws. Your content (letters, notes, photos) remains yours. We claim no ownership over anything you create.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the effectiveness of the App for any particular purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mute and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of relationships, emotional distress, or any other damages arising from your use of the App.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
