Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Mute ("the App"), operated by Andrés Martínez ("we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Mute is a personal tool designed to help users maintain periods of intentional no-contact after a breakup. The App provides features including app blocking (via Apple's Screen Time), photo reminders, voice notes, and personal journaling. All features operate entirely on your device.

Mute offers an optional paid tier, "Mute Full", available as either an auto-renewable subscription or a one-time purchase:

• — Mute Full — Monthly: $6.99 per month (or the equivalent price in your local currency), including a 7-day free trial. This subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it.
• — Mute Full — Lifetime: $29.99 as a single, one-time payment. This is not a subscription and does not renew.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. For the monthly subscription, your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price stated above, unless you turn off auto-renew beforehand.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited.

Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple and are subject to the App Store terms. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Use of the App is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code.

You are responsible for:

• — Using the App in compliance with all applicable laws
• — Any content you create within the App (letters, notes, voice notes, personal data)
• — Maintaining the security of your device
• — Understanding that blocking apps affects your ability to receive communications

Mute is a personal tool, not a mental health service. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified healthcare provider or emergency services. The App should not be used as a substitute for professional counseling, therapy, or medical advice.

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Andrés Martínez and protected by intellectual property laws. Your content (letters, notes, voice notes, photos) remains yours. We claim no ownership over anything you create.

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding the effectiveness of the App for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App's creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of relationships, emotional distress, or any other damages arising from your use of the App.

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be submitted to the competent courts of Montevideo, Uruguay.
